Annual Church
BBQ For the past several years
the church has enjoyed the annual BBQ put on by the Fellowship
Committee under the direction of Mae Alanko, assisted by the
members of the committee. To that group this year we can
add the Alabama Sheriffs Ranch in the person of Jim Harmon for
providing the Boston Butts and chicken. To all of the
members of the committee and to Jim we say thank you. To
Mary Lou Pope, who sold the extra Boston Butts as a fund raiser
for the Boys Ranch thank you as well. Finally to all of
the cooks who brought the other dishes for the meal, including
the desserts thank you. As the photos in the slide show of
photos taken during the event reveal, everyone was in a joyful
and happy mood. Great Day....Great Food.....Great
Fellowship. Click the small photo below to start the slide

Annual
Chili
Cook-off
The annual chili cook-off for St. Andrew
By the Sea was held Sunday February 21st in the Fellowship Hall.
For a pittance you could vote on your favorite chili and
dessert, and once again have a hand in proclaiming the greatest
chili cooks and dessert makers in the congregation, if not the
world. There were over 500 votes (dollars) cast and
everyone had a good time, at least until the indigestion set in
later in the evening. Thanks to Mae Alanko and the
Fellowship Committee for hosting the event, and especially
Susannah Lax for the decorations. The winners of the chili
cook-off were Bill Martin, Mae Alanko, and Linda Chappelle.
The dessert winners were Boots Bass, Carolyn Burnette and Linda
Brown. They are pictured below from left to right.
You may enlarge the photos if you want to see their prizes by
