HOME Building a sanctuary takes funding and the congregation has given generously, raising over $750,000 before construction began. This effort was led by Bubba Lee, Chairman of the Finance Committee. He was supported by the Board of Directors under the leadership of President Perry Hand and by every member of the Finance Committee. Architects were chosen, plans were approved, colors selected, other churches visited, and thousands of hours were given by church volunteers in an effort to bring to the congregation their recommendations for a sanctuary which would serve us well for years to come. The Building and Worship Committees and other interested individuals labored long and hard to set the stage for the construction process to begin. The bidding process was long and and hard, but the Board of Directors, Building Committee and Finance Committee led us through it. As the congregation worked its way through these decisions, we needed a church home and what is shown on this page is how we chose to proceed. First came the lot preparation with the permanent structure in mind. Next the modulars were placed on the lot so as not to interfere with construction of the permanent facilities, and then the deck between the modulars and half of the parking lot was completed. Parishioners did much of this work. Steve Ward used his equipment to prepare much of the lot for use. In other words it was a team effort and we are a better congregation because of that effort.
