St. Andrew by the Sea
Twenty-fourth Sunday After Pentecost
Prelude
Chiming of the Hour
peregrinatio est
tacere
“to be
on pilgrimage is to be silent”
*Processional Hymn –555
We’re Marching to Zion
*Opening Prayer
*Passing of the Peace
The
Peace of the Lord be with you.
And
also with you.
Holy
Ground
We are standing on
holy ground,
and I know that there
are angels all around.
Let us praise Jesus
now.
We are standing in his presence on holy
ground.
*Affirmation from Romans 8:35, 37-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation or distress,
or
persecution or famine,
or nakedness or
peril or sword?
No!
In all things we are more than conquerors
through
the One who loved us.
We are sure that neither
death
nor life,
nor
angels, nor principalities,
nor
things present, nor things to come,
nor
powers, nor height, nor depth,
nor
anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God
in
Christ Jesus our Lord.
Thanks be to God! Amen.
*Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
Amen.

Prayer
Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as
it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the
kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. . .
Choral Response
Offertory Anthem – Many Gifts, One Spirit A. Pote
Many gifts, one spirit, many songs, one
voice. Many reasons, one promise,
many questions, one choice. O
God, we pray for unity, give guidance from above. In our differences unite us in the circle of
your love. O God, remind us we are not
alone. Though we move on different
pathways, we are walking to your throne.
Help us learn to love each other, show us ways to understand. We are members of one family, growing strong
by joining hands. Take our many ways of
working, blend the colors of each soul into the beauty of the rainbow, give us
life, Lord, make us whole.
